BASIC RULE SET:
FIRST RULE:Nobody is perfect, you have to draw YOUR own way!!!
This does NOT mean you should not always seek new or different techniques and tools to help you.
SECOND RULE:It is TOTALLY OK TO COPY SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK!
. . . as long as it is to learn a technique or to understand how a character was created or a scene was rendered, etc..
after all, this IS how you learn the craft of the art!
Just remember to give proper credit and respect copyright wishes when you seek to show someone else's artwork...
remember, they are the original artist, not you. Better yet just do original work!
Also remember that just because you have quality tools,.. that does not guarantee quality work! Only YOU can do that.
And ONLY constant practice will make your work better.
The Manga/Comix industry is a world-wide corporate structure whose sole purpose is to sell a product
that being manga, comix and all the toys and etc's they generate. You are only one person,.. that can work to your advantage
however, because only YOU can do your brand of art!
If you can, try to work with other artists, create a 'manga or comix artists club'.., you can then help one another out with inking
and layout and all that comes with putting out single artist work. The words of Iyane Isuzu (Gatekeepers 21)
come to mind, "I found that I cannot do anything interesting,.. unless I do it with others!" And INDEPENDENT artists need to help each other
because that is what the manga community is all about and it is what will keep the independent movement going... We can only maintain the ability to do our
independent art through a COLLECTIVE support of the community, whether we like the style and content or not, collective effort has always been the way of the artist.
THIRD RULE: ( Please remember this one...)
NEVER BE AFRAID TO ASK A QUESTION !
HEY! You can write me and ask if you don't have anyone else to ask ! Just click the SunFighterComix link below~
